Colt Ryan from Evansville Wins StatSheet NCAA Player of the Week - March 4th, 2013

With solid performances against top-tier competition, including one team in the RPI Top 50 and another in the Top 100, Colt Ryan, a 6-5 senior from Evansville, is the StatSheet NCAA Player of the Week. Kyle Anderson from UCLA is the StatSheet NCAA Freshman of the Week and Davante Gardner from Marquette is StatSheet's NCAA 6th Man of the Week. Ryan put up a strong 30 points per game, 3 three pointers per game, and 6.5 assists per game, lifting the Aces to wins against Wichita State and Indiana State.

Ryan led all scoring for the Aces with 29 points on 55% shooting in a close 59-56 win against Wichita State. He then led the team in scoring (31) and added an additional 8 assists in an 84-68 victory over Indiana State.

This is the first time this season that Colt Ryan has been named StatSheet NCAA Player of the Week. The runner-up this week is junior Doug McDermott from Creighton. Honorable mention goes to junior Jordan McRae from Tennessee.

StatSheet NCAA Freshman of the Week: UCLA's Kyle Anderson

Kyle Anderson played an average of 36 minutes starting both games for the Bruins. In a hard-fought 79-74 win over Arizona State, Anderson led rebounding with 15 while churning out 4 blocked shots. Against Arizona, in a tight 74-69 win, he had 17 points and 7 rebounds.

This marks the first time this season that Anderson has won the StatSheet NCAA Freshman of the Week. The runner-up is Jahii Carson from Arizona State. Honorable mention goes to Shabazz Muhammad from UCLA.

StatSheet NCAA 6th Man of the Week: Marquette's Davante Gardner

Junior Davante Gardner averaged 26 minutes over two games for the Golden Eagles. In a narrow 74-71 win over Syracuse, Gardner led the Golden Eagles scoring and rebounding with 26 and 8. Then in a 72-64 upset of Notre Dame, he contributed 2 rebounds and 3 assists.

This is the first time this season Gardner has won the StatSheet NCAA 6th Man of the Week award. Jamil Wilson, a junior forward from Marquette, is runner-up. Tyrus McGee, a senior guard from Iowa State, wins honorable mention.
